Taiwan continues to make its way as one of the NFT hubs in Asia, and NFT Taipei — The Biggest Festival in Asia, was held at various locations within Taipei City, pushing that initiative with its nine-day event in December. Thousands of people had gathered upon its primary launch and the result was a blast despite the bear market. Lootex, along with other project partners, co-hosted several spectacular gatherings from December 9 to 18.
Different personalities and global leaders gathered to discuss the importance of NFTs in digitizing the world — even celebrities, athletes, and filmmakers were present during the discussions. All things considered, the vibe of crypto enthusiasts were amazing, partying while learning about NFTs. So for those who missed out on the real fun, here are some of the highlights of Lootex’s best moments in NFT Taipei.
OneOffs NFT International Art Fair 2022
OneOffs collaborated with Lootex and W Hotel Taipei to hold the first NFT Art Fair back in 2021. The event received a great response garnering over twenty thousand visitors and pulled off an impressive fifty million NTD revenue during the exhibition. The results were so fascinating that OneOffs decided to turn it into an annual event.
The second “OneOffs NFT International Art Fair”, still held at W Hotel Taipei, became the jump-starter event for the Biggest NFT Festival in Asia — NFT Taipei. As an exhibitor in this event, Lootex has teamed up with several artists to launch a series of Ukiyo-e-style interactive NFTs called Ukiyo-verse, also known as Ukiyo Universe, which was exhibited LIVE at the OneOffs International NFT Art Fair 2022 on December 9 to 11. It combines real-time technology and interactive experience to create a new 3D- AR, interactive digital NFT. This art combines eastern and western themes that’s seemingly very eye-catching.
NFT Taipei Official Conference
Lootex Co-Founder & CEO and NADA Chairman, Justine Lu, gave the opening speech to kick-start the conference, to which was followed by renowned guests of honor, Audrey Tang — Digital Minister of Taiwan MODA, Chen Mei-Ling — Chairman of Taiwan Blockchain Alliance/Taiwan Regional Revitalization Foundation, and Jeffrey Gou — Chairman of Syntrend.
Lootex Co-Founder & COO, David Tseng, also participated as one of the speakers talking about how web3 has paved the way to new opportunities for creators by sharing his own experiences as a founder and creator during the conference.
It was also mesmerizing to see both Vitalik Buterin (Co-Founder of Ethereum) and Suji Yan (Founder & CEO of Mask Network) appear in NFT Taipei. Regardless of it being a virtual chat, the keynotes shared in the conference were very insightful.
Vitalik Buterin pointed out that Ethereum currently lacks innovation. But why did he say this? Vitalik came up with two ways to make Ethereum more decentralized. First would be to expand its existing ecosystem; Second is to enrich the total number and categories of stakeholders in the ecosystem, and not let a few specific groups control the development of the entire Ethereum. It’s still a work in progress but he is still optimistic about the development in the next 5 to 10 years.
Partying in Taipei: The Gamer Way
As NFT Taipei’s conference comes to an end, Lootex co-hosted an invite-only Web3 Gaming Night together with XPG and OutliersFund at Barcade.
Hironao Kunimitsu, Founder & CEO of Thirdverse, mentioned at the conference that in order for Web3 to succeed, community building should be nurtured by incorporating social aspects as one of the sources of foundation. And Lootex strongly believes that gaming, whether traditional or modernized, connects people in unimaginable ways.
Gamers, guilds and developers had lots of fun socializing and playing interactive games. It’s great to meet people with common interests that’s for sure!
NFT Taipei Exhibition
The booth was officially open and our team was already accommodating tons of local and international visitors. The Lootex team is really grateful for the great feedback we have received. Looking forward to more successful exhibitions in the future!
NFT Taipei : Above and Beyond
As we commemorate the success of NFT Taipei’s launch, Lootex is grateful to all sponsors, co-hosts, media partners, speakers, and attendees that helped achieve this milestone. NFT Taipei 2022 wouldn’t be the same without each and everyone of you.
Hope to see everyone again in 2023 !!!
