Last Call at Biru: A Final Toast to Our Community

Every great night at the bar eventually comes to closing time.

Today, we're sharing that Biru will be winding down operations on April 4, 2026. After April 4, 2026, the Biru marketplace, launchpad, staking features, and Beer Point system will no longer be accessible.

This wasn't an easy decision — but we want to be upfront and honest with the community that has made Biru what it is.

Your NFTs Are Safe — Nothing Changes for Your Assets

This is the most important thing to know: Biru is a non-custodial marketplace. We have never held or controlled any of your NFTs or tokens. Everything you own is in your wallet, on the Soneium blockchain, exactly where it's always been.

You do not need to take any action to protect your assets.

  • Your NFTs remain fully in your wallet
  • Smart contracts on Soneium continue to function independently of Biru
  • Your Birunoko, Cellar Batch, Meowtopia, and all other NFTs are on-chain and unaffected
  • You can view and trade your NFTs on any Soneium-compatible marketplace

What's Changing

  • March 24, 2026 — This announcement
  • March 27, 2026 — New listings and minting features will be disabled
  • March 31, 2026 — Marketplace trading features (buying, selling, bidding) will be disabled. All active listings will be automatically cancelled. No pending transactions will be affected.
  • Apr 03, 2026 — Biru Discord will be officially closed.
  • April 4, 2026 — The Biru website will go offline
  • Ongoing — Smart contracts on Soneium remain live and functional

What Happens to Beer Points and Staking?

  • Beer Points: The Beer Point system will be discontinued on 2026/4/4. Beer Points are off-chain and non-transferable by design, so there is no action needed on your part.
  • NFT Staking: Please unstake your NFTs before 2026/4/4. After this date, the staking interface will no longer be accessible. Your staked NFTs will be automatically returned to your wallet if not unstaked manually.
  • FizzPop: The FizzPop game will be discontinued on 2026/4/4. FizzPlay Tickets (SBTs) were soulbound and non-transferable — no action needed.

We believe in being honest with you.

The NFT landscape has shifted significantly since Biru launched. Despite our best efforts and the incredible support from the Soneium community, we've concluded that continuing operations is no longer sustainable. Rather than slowly fading away, we believe in being transparent and giving you a clear timeline.

Looking Back — The Brew We Shared

When we set out to build Biru, we wanted to create something different — not just another NFT marketplace, but the most playful and interactive platform on Soneium. A place where you could mint, trade, and genuinely have fun.

And you showed up. Together, we:

  • Launched Biru's Brew: Soneium's First Sip — the free commemorative NFT celebrating Soneium's mainnet launch
  • Created the Brewverse — a world of Beer Points, staking, quests, and community campaigns
  • Brought Birunoko to life — 6,666 hand-drawn PFPs with R.T Dragon, the first PFP collection on Soneium
  • Built Kill Biru — a samurai-themed collection with an innovative burn-to-earn mechanic
  • Hosted Biru Game Night at Taipei Game Show 2025, bridging gaming and blockchain communities
  • Built FizzPop — a match-3 game that proved NFTs can be genuinely fun
  • Launched the Astar Brew Challenge — 100 days, 100M $ASTR, across 10 seasons
  • Grew a community of 86,000+ across Twitter/X — all of you who showed up and brewed with us
  • Established a presence in Japan, working to bring the Soneium ecosystem to new audiences

Every mint, every stake, every Beer Point earned, every combo in FizzPop — that was you. This community gave Biru its heartbeat.

Where to Go from Here

Your NFTs live on-chain and can be accessed from any compatible platform. Here are some alternatives for the Soneium ecosystem:

  • OpenSea — Supports Soneium as a chain; many Soneium collections are already listed

If you're a creator who launched a collection on Biru's launchpad, your smart contracts are yours — they exist on-chain and function independently.

A note about Soneium: The Soneium ecosystem is thriving and continues to grow with Sony's ongoing investment. Biru's wind-down is a Biru decision — it does not reflect the state of Soneium, which remains an active and expanding blockchain. The Soneium community and its creators have a bright future ahead.

FAQ

Q: Do I need to withdraw or move my NFTs? 
A: No. Biru never held your NFTs. They are in your wallet and are not affected by this change.

Q: Will my NFTs still exist after Biru shuts down? 
A: Yes. Your NFTs are on the Soneium blockchain and exist independently of Biru. They will continue to exist as long as the blockchain exists.

Q: What about my Birunoko NFTs? 
A: Your Birunoko NFTs are on-chain and fully in your wallet. The collection, metadata, and artwork are preserved. You can continue to hold, display, or trade them on any Soneium-compatible marketplace.

Q: I have NFTs staked on Biru. What should I do? 
A: Please unstake your NFTs before April 4, 2026.

Q: What happens to my Beer Points? 
A: Beer Points are off-chain and will be discontinued. They were always non-transferable and cannot be converted to tokens. No action is needed.

Q: What about my FizzPop tickets? 
A: FizzPop Play Tickets are soulbound tokens (SBTs) — they cannot be transferred or sold and will remain in your wallet as mementos. The game itself will be discontinued.

Q: Can I still trade NFTs I originally bought or minted on Biru? 
A: Yes! Your NFTs can be traded on any marketplace that supports Soneium. The smart contracts are independent of Biru.

Q: What about collections launched through Biru's launchpad? 
A: The smart contracts for all collections launched on Biru's launchpad are deployed on-chain and belong to their respective creators. They will continue to function independently.

Q: Will the Biru website stay up? 
A: The website will remain accessible until April 4, 2026, so you can unstake NFTs and review your activity. After that, it will go offline.
